I have spent a LOT of time reading blogs this year, and I admire all who can actually keep their blogs up to date - unlike me, who most of the time has nothing of interest to write about. This has led me to think about what I want to achieve with my blog and what I want it to reflect.
At the beginining of the year I thought my blog would be devoted to my sewing adventures as I sewed along with The Sew Weekly. I did do this for a while, but I just felt I was repeating myself as I was posting my "creations" over at Sew Weekly, and then when life got just too busy to allow much time for sewing, I had nothing sewing related to write about.
Most of the blogs I have followed this year have been about one particular aspect of the writer's life - which is what most of the "how to" guides I read suggest you do. I'm not so sure this is what I want at the moment. I don't want to write about every detail of my very ordinary life - but I don't do enough of any one thing to write about - and the real purpose of my blog (for me) is to just write .... about my ordinary life. I want to reflect on the sewing, crochet, knitting or whatever the current interest is. I want to share the joys (or lament about how slack I am) of my horse, my garden, my house, my sewing. I want to share the highs and lows of being a mother. I want to explore my "style".
SO - I am going to turn my blog into just that - ramblings of my life. If you choose to come along for the ride - welcome!
