Third time lucky

Happy 2013 everyone - well to the few who stumble across my little blog.

I have been "blogging" very badly for two years.  By badly I mean hardly EVER posting.  One of my 2013 goals is to change that.  Since discovering the wonderful world of blogging in 2010 I have been so inspired by those of you who post regularly and share your creativity with the rest of the world.  Now I don't think I'm inspiring at all - that isn't my goal.  My goal is to use this blog to help me focus on my creativity and hone my skills in the things that interest me - mainly sewing, crochet and taking better photos.

Sewing:

Goal:  Complete at least one garment a month throughout 2013.  Each garment should include at least one new skill (eg different seam finish, new technique etc).  If I can make a few things that are half as well made as those from the very talented Handmade by Carolyn I will be very happy.  I have been following Carolyn's blog for a few months now - she is one extremely talented seamstress.

As an added inspiration - yesterday I finally bought a dressmakers dummy - meet Tilly:

Crochet:

Goal 1:  Finish my Ripple Rug by the end of January (I need to get a wriggle on).

Goal 2:  Explore different crocheting techniques and completing small projects alongside my next rug, which will probably be a white granny square rug based on this:

A Photo A Day:

Goal:  Play along with A Photo A Day over at fat mum slim.  I intended to take a photo a day during 2012 but quickly ran out of inspiration.  As luck would have it following a blog trail led me to fat mum slim at the beginning of December, just in time to play along with Chantelle's photo a day.  It was lots of fun and I'm super happy that she is "playing" again this year.  You can see all my photos by clicking on the tab at the top of the page.

Blogging:

Goal:  To post at least once a week - although if it takes as long to do subsequent posts as it has with this one the blog may be over for ever! (just a few frustrating technical difficulties - hence only the one photos - sorry!).

I look forward to sharing the journey with you.

Cheers!

Deb

  1. Thank you Deb for those kind words :)
A photo a day? and sounds like a excellent way to get creative and really "look" at one's surroundings!
